“Fear not, for behold, I bring you good news of great joy that will be for all the people.” - Luke 2:10
--
When the angels proclaimed “Fear not,” they spoke to a world trembling under the burden of sin, judgment, and death. Nothing short of a Savior could silence that fear. The coming of Christ is God’s answer to the deepest fears of the human heart. Do you fear the wrath of God? Behold the Savior who bears it. Do you fear the power of sin? Behold the Savior who breaks it. Do you fear the sting of death? Behold the Savior who conquers it. Fear not, for the Lord of glory has clothed Himself in our flesh that He might deliver us from every terror.
Christ did not come to terrify men but to save them. His birth is the pledge of peace. His life is the pattern of love. His death is the ground of pardon. His resurrection is the guarantee of immortality. Fear is cast out when love is believed. Fear flees when the heart is occupied with Christ. The trembling sinner finds courage when He looks to Jesus. The burdened conscience finds rest when it leans on Jesus. The dying saint finds victory when He commits His spirit into the hands of Jesus. Fear not, for unto you is born a Savior.
Let us not dishonor Christ by living as though His coming had done nothing to remove our fears. The manger is the doorway to everlasting peace. The Christ who came once is the Christ who lives and reigns forever. If we trust Him, we need not dread the present, nor shrink from the future, nor tremble at the thought of eternity. Let the truth of the incarnation still the storms within. The Savior lives, and they who rest in Him shall not be moved.
