How then will they call on him in whom they have not believed? And how are they to believe in him of whom they have never heard? And how are they to hear without someone preaching?

(Romans 10:14)

_____

All of us, I would think, hope that everyone in our community would come to know Christ as Lord.

The treasure that we possess - salvation in Jesus - is far more valuable than anything else that we could ever hope to offer to the world around us.

Yet we often neglect our calling to proclaim the Gospel to those around us. We can sometimes take for granted where our friends and neighbors stand with God, or feel as though we are inadequate to be the one to tell them the truths of the Scriptures.

Brothers and sisters, my encouragement to you this week is to remember Paul’s words in Romans 10:14. If someone would know Jesus Christ, they must believe, and faith comes from hearing! The Gospel must be proclaimed from our lips everywhere we go, and we must trust God to work in the hearts of unbelievers as only He can. Let’s commit ourselves to share with everyone.
